Acting for Young People Stages

Acting for Young People Stages was formed for the purpose of production: the creation of plays to be performed for young audiences, and the creation of plays to be performed by young actors. AFYP Stages’ mission is to create and present plays that educate audiences of all ages and stages on vital issues and to provide a professional stage for young actors to showcase their talents. AFYP Stages strives to create the most professional working environment possible, and we put the children’s needs first. This unique program gives them the experience of performing while getting top-level training, all while developing the premiere performances of an original play.

Acting for Young People is a member of the Arts Council of Fairfax County.

Balaji Music Academy

Based in McLean, Virginia, Balaji Music Academy, under the director of Vatsala Mehra, is a unique institution that offers classes in Indian Classical Vocal Music, Ghazals, Bhajans, Pop Music and music of general interest. The uniqueness of this Academy is the teaching methods. Students are taught on a one-to-one basis. This method results in a program that is unique to each student.

BalletArts Ensemble

In 1993, Benn and Debra Savage had a vision for a performing company that would develop young dancers through the art of performing, fulfilling dreams and aspirations, and promoting an appreciation of the arts in Northern Virginia. The Ballet Arts Ensemble (BAE), a troupe of twelve dancers, was born. Now, twelve seasons later, sixty young teens and adults carry on that mission. The goals of the BAE include: arts education performances at Fairfax County schools; therapeutic performances at INOVA or other hospitals and at elder-care facilities; funding to commission choreography and guest artists; and purchase of costumes and performance pointe shoes.
